For the money I have to say I am truly impressed. Very water resistant. Comfortable, minor exception being the collar when the hood is stowed. Durable. A bit bulky, but well worth it. This is as good an outer shell as anything I had in 23 years in the military. But keep in mind that it is part of a system. This will keep you warm and dry in wet weather but for snow, you will need to layer it with fleece etc under it according to conditions. Also, this is not for hunting. Might work in a tree stand but it’s noisy going through brush and whips. Don’t stray from wool while on the track.Zippers are stout. Velcro is robust. Closures and pockets are what you would expect although I might want a couple interior pockets.Just a great jacket for moderate weather. Or couple it with smart wool or fleece for extreme weather.Keep it away from embers!!!

I have four of these jackets. One is a medium that I use in warm weather as a rain or foul weather jacket.I have one that I use as an overcoat for dual sport motorcycle riding while it is either raining or when it is very cold out. I got a spare one as an anniversary present as the first one I had ever gotten is now over 5 years old so my wife got me a new one even though the old one still works quite well. They are both 2XL so they fit over a 12V heated Tourmaster synergy pro jacket, an insulated motorcycle shell, sometimes a Leatt 6.5 Pro chest protector and then the Tru Spec jacket. Finally, I use another 2XL as an overcoat over my heavy insulated snowmobile jackets during snowmobile or ski season as neither the wind nor the snow, nor the rain, will get through the coat. All the pockets are fantastic as are the massive underarm vents for any time temps rise and I don’t have the time or ability to remove the jacket and carry it around while traveling or playing. My wife and both kids each have a jacket as well. I also have two pairs of the matching pants as they are just so durable and waterproof/windproof.

Great jacket for the price. This is just a shell, it’s not lined in anyway. It is definitely waterproof and has some great design features like under arm zippers to ventilate if you get too hot. Lots of pockets for stuff and a stow away hood. You can buy a fleece lining that attaches by snap studs and a front zipper which turns this shell into a warm coat, I’ve done this and the fleece which is around $45 works fine. I’m 6ft 2, weigh179 lb and have a 34′ waist. I purchased the Large/Long.
