So this pack is exactly like it says it is. The material is a waterproof material. I am not sure how heavy duty it is without intentionally destroying it. It feels a little on the thin side but that is also a weight savings. This material could be extremely durable, this is only something time will tell.This could definitely be used for long hiking excursions. I really like the expandability of this as you can put as much in as you want and then by loosening the side straps or tightening them still retain the pack shape without annoying sagging. It has plenty of spot to add additional molle pack and velcro molle at the top to add tags, or labels or patches or anything you might want. There are several small pouches inside each of the primary pockets to store smaller items.This does have pouches that would work for a laptop or tablet, however those are not padded. This is acceptable to me though as again the padding is just going to add weight. If you are truly using this as a hiking pack you are probably not going to take a laptop with you. But you could, it wouldn’t be very well protected. In the pictures they showing really being used as a laptop bag, with the charging cords and journals. I would not use it like that though as there is no padding at all.I remove 1 star because what arrived does not match the pictures. I really hate that when products do that. So many things you get now just do not match the actual pictures. The pack itself as in the size and number of pouches are exactly what is shown. However, I got the red one and the pictures on the red one show black interior pouches, black interior where the laptop is and black zippers. What arrived is entirely red, red zippers, red interior pouches.
Ches –
Water resistant with nice nylon zippers. Numerous pockets with a large clothing compartment. This makes for an excellent go – bag.
