As a long time EDC of SOG Flash Tanto, this upgraded version of the SOG assisted open pocket is excellent. Everything about it is large for an EDC. But since I lost one of my original Flash Tantos due to an unplanned emergency commercial flight, I wanted to replace it with another SOG with other options. This Trident is very snappy on the open and smooth on the close. I can easily open/close one-handed. The unlock slide is low profile compared to Flash. It took a few minutes to get the feel of it but it feels natural. My Flash may be a bit high profile actually. The D2 cryo blade has a beautiful drop point geometry and will function well as both a slicer and poker. Absolutely no lateral play on the nicely centered blade hinge. Great lockup both open and closed with safety on. The safety location is unique to me like a Mossberg shotgun on top vs. side slider but plays well with the ambidextrous design. Edge is razor sharp and has a great polished bevel with no defects. I will strap this in my car for emergency use for me or rescue of another trapped motorist since it has dual glass breaker points and a seatbelt/line cutter. Not sure how well that feature will work with modern seatbelts though. Out off the box, I’m very happy with the purchase and is a decent value in today’s dollars for the quality of components, fit and finish. Recommended for anyone who is familiar with these types of knives and/or wants a good sized one like this. I like the look too, fwiw. 😉

Little bit hard to open with one hand, spring assist is not very strong
