Bought this after reading several reviews recommending this headlamp for its performance to cost value. After using it for several nights, I can attest to its great performance for not that much cost. It’s built tough, has great controls, and does not weigh too much on my hard hat for me to really notice it. The high modes are plenty bright for what I utilize the light for. I also like how the design of the light isn’t gaudy, and is very clean and simple.

I own many Sofirn lights, this headlamp represents their continued push for quality and innovation. The included flood and spotlight effortlessly light up your path or workspace. The battery life is decent, it’s typically enough to get me through a project or two.Sofirn makes amazing products, I would be more than happy to review more in the future!

There are 2 versions of this light – brighter and more throw.I bought ‘brighter’. Man is it – comparing against the coast rl20b, klarus E1 flashlight and klarus 11gt flashlight i would say this is well over 2000 lumens in turbo mode. The real value however is the incredible flood which gives total field of view for tasks like walking the dog or hiking. The throw on this model is abbreviated and could be the flood lamp on other lights. Throwing raw lumens at the distance this is straining to light up past 75 yards but inside that everything is lit up like the sun.On high mode this is very close to the klarus E1 in both output and beam shape, making it a perfect everyday headlamp.Turbo mode doesn’t help the throw much due to the lack of focusing but is much brighter.Controls are simple and intuitive and easy to manipulate without looking. since there are 2 buttons and 2 lamps its simple to feel which button to push for which lamp. holding a button to switch brightness is more complex, but makes sense and is simple to operate. Brightness of each can be set independently by holding the button and cycling throughThe body is all metal meaning the heat is dissipated through the body well. even with extended use, i didnt ever experience where the body became uncomfortably hot however. possibly because it is dissipating well or maybe just because of the rubber foot pad of the headband, but regardless it is comfortable enough even with folks like me who like to have the thing on max brightness all the time.Overall this is looking like my new favorite headlamp. Only minor nit would be that the flood is only slightly wider than the “throw” and either throw could have been wider or spot could have been narrower.ETA: after operating this for several months now, I continue to find this to be the best overall headlamp – the controls are simple and easy to use, it sets a brightness and keeps is, and doesn’t have stupid and unnecessary “features” that get in the way.
