- Model #173805 – RX-1600I Rangefinder, TBR/W
- True Ballistic Range / Wind (TBR/W) technology provides ballistically calculated ranges for extremely accurate shots at longer distances and steeper angles. It can also generate a hold point for a 10-mph wind at a 90-degree angle out to 800 yards.
- Bow mode uses the distance and the angle of a shot to calculate a ballistic equivalent to the target for more accurate uphill and downhill archery shots.
- LED displays use bright red characters and have adjustable brightness setting. This display technology also enables best in class light transmission for use in low light conditions.
- Last Target mode ensures the rangefinder reads the farthest target in the laser’s path, so grasses and twigs don’t interfere with an accurate range.

The good news. The range and speed of this rangefinder blew away the 700 yd Bushnell I currently have. Readout is super bright and clear. It feels very well built. Smaller than expected.*(Disregard this paragraph.)The bad news. My performance testing was short lived. The battery provided did not last through a second use. I literally watched the battery strength bars dwindle with each press of the button when I tried it the second time. I hope it’s just a crappy Chinese battery that prematurely went dead while on the shelf. After trying to find the rare, unobtainiom CR2 camera battery at 4 different local stores, I had to order online at the “company store” ( Tomahawk Tactical Supply). So I can’t say for sure if this rangefinder is gtg or not. It didn’t operate long enough to answer that. The little bit I did get to use it suggests it everything I wanted. If it performs well after a battery change, I will bump up the stars. C’mon Leupold, pony up for a freaking Duracell. If you are buying this for a hunt, do yourself a favor and order fresh CR2 batteries when you order the rangefinder. Toss the provided batteries.*Update- Not sure what to think. I got a new battery. A Duracell. After installation this rangefinder has worked like a champ. Just for grins I installed the provided “dead” battery in my old rangefinder. Showed 100% charge. So then I put that battery back in the Leupold rangefinder it came with and it also showed 100%. I can only conclude I had poor contact at first for some reason. Anyway the ranging performance of this thing is light years ahead of my old one. I changed my rating from 3 to 5 stars.

Used my RX-1600i TBR/w out to a reading range of 1240 on a tug boat going down the Columbia River using the LOS(line of sight!. Ranged it as it moved and gave me quick readings. It was a good reflective unit, but I liked the ease of use and the repeated range when Ranged one after another! Seems as if about 6.5 yards off a deer was as close at it wanted to read on BOW setting, which is great for me. The adjustment on the RED Targeting indicator is great for bright days or darker days or evenings. It’s new, but is working great! Easy to Register at Leupold.com.

I think for the money there isn’t a better rangefinder available. So far it has ranged really well at long distances for plinking (past 1800) ,and it constantly makes accurate reads up to 400 yards and down for hunting purposes when out in the field. I’d recommend this range finder for anyone hunting game out west.
