I can understand that a product may work for some people, but not all. Fortunately, this bipod works well for me!First of all, the bipod is very lightweight. This is important because I do not want to lug around a heavy set up. My application requires that I get up from ground level and move frequently. There are some complaints of how the legs are attached to the center. The two Allen bolts can be lubed and adjusted, or even have the washer exchanged with a nylon type. I lubed mine and adjusted the tension, so there is no play but still easy to deploy. The leg length adjustment works as expected. A twist to loosen, another twist to tighten. In the field, I just leave the length alone once configured. No complaints here. The center of the bipod does not lock down completely, and that is actually what I want. The lever is a tension control. CCW to loosen, and CW to tighten. I only shoot a recoilless PCP .177 airgun with mine, and I prefer the tension to be snug but not stiff when I am ready to fire a shot. The level is conveniently located so it is easy to loosen up for tracking purposes. There *may* be ways to lock it down completely, I have not looked into it.The most frequent complaint is the lack of a quick detachment. I purchased a picatinny riser. Attach the bipod to the riser “permanently”, and then you have a QD bipod! I have not found the slotted bolt of the bipod to come loose by themselves in my use.I can honestly compare this bipod with many other ways to support an air rifle. A regular tripod+Arca mount is solid, but it is way too heavy, it is also awkward to control the tension of the tripod head. A DeathGrip has too much play, and the same problems with a tripod. A ChairPod is too heavy to carry around, and the support is not stable enough. A FieldPod (Bog or Caldwell) is too cumbersome to set up for my application. This doesn’t mean the other products do not work, just not as well for my specific application of needing to move frequently, having to sit on the ground as low as possible, need to scan around, and shooting with a recoilless airgun.

Caldwell makes greast Bipods, this one is no different, it is one of the nicest bipods I have besides the Atlas. carbon fiber makes it lighter and look nice. matching my carbon fiber handguard. I put the american defense QD on it. I bought the longer one so i can sit and shoot, its just the right height for it, im a smaller guy. so anyone 5’6” might want a taller Bipod for shooting in the sitting position. it has 360 rotaion which is awesome, and has enough cant for most applications. and a lever to tighten it in the right setting. solid when mounted. my only complaint would be that it would have 5 positions for the legs (like the ATLAS) instead of just 3 but I probably wouldnt use the 45 degree angels anyways, but its nice to have. the legs lock solid nice overall bipod. worth the 100. and I would put the american defense QD mount on it. its another 80$ but American defense make great products especially Mounts. I would reccomend this to everyone. it comes in standard 6-9 also. very minimalistic design.

Super bipod for the money. Very lightweight, and very adjustable. Doesn’t have the 45 degree settings so realize that before you buy. Either straight of folded forward or aft. Other than that, just as good as the $300 overpriced bipods.
