This is the first Benchmade knife I’ve owned, so there’s no fanboy bias here. The overall fit and finish is top notch. This thing feels so good in your hand it’s amazing. It’s very lightweight, but also is very sturdy and has no blade wobble and everything is perfectly aligned. The open/close action is smooth as butter, and the Axis locking system works exactly as expected. The factory edge on my particular knife was extremely sharp; was able to cut through thick plastic wrap without even exerting any pressure… just kinda lasered through it. As I use it more we’ll see how good the edge retention is.The only negative thing I’ve noticed so far is that on the Woodland Green 6061 aluminum model I have, the anodizing when new was kind of a matte finish. But carrying in my pocket that matte finish is quickly wearing away to more of a traditional smooth anodized finish. Not a deal breaker, and hopefully with more use it’ll end up an even texture across the entire handle. But right now there’s some spots that are smoother than others. I tried getting a picture of it, but it’s difficult to get one that clearly shows what I’m talking about.I’ll try to update this review in the future since this is something that I’ll be carrying / using on a daily basis. Hopefully it’ll live up to the hype.

Full disclaimer, I am not a “knife guy” and this if my first higher-end knife. I don’t know what all of the parts of the knife are called, and I don’t care too. What I wanted was a top-tier knife that didn’t require me to do anything to get it to that level.I’ll start by saying I own a few other knives including SOG and CRKT and they do not compare to this knife at all. I’ll likely never pick them up again as they are functionally and aesthetically inferior in every way. The Benchmade came razor sharp and it’s unlikely I’ll ever need to sharpen it given what I used it for, while the other knives are dull in comparison. The biggest complaint I hear against this knife and Benchmade in general is that they are too expensive. Sure you could buy a $50-$100 knife, adjust all the screws, spend time sharpening it on a regular basis, oil it, and modify it to a point that maybe it would somewhat compare, but for me I had no interest in doing that. I wanted a knife that was perfect out of the box, already gone through by someone who really knows what they are doing, and I was willing to pay for that. This knife delivered on all of those and then some. If the cost bothers you, then thats an issue with your wallet, not with the value of Benchmade knives. IMO worth every penny.

Rewarded myself with this knife. No complaints. It’s a benchmade and it’s 100% great.
