This sling replaced an older Quake sling on my Ruger 10/22. The Quake was/is a fine sling — I still like it — but there were two problems with it, both solved by this new sling. One, it had older swivels that had very long, pointy thumb screws, the front of which tangled in the lining of my rifle scabbard, retarding removal. Second, even though the non-slip pad worked well on clothing, it kept slipping off of my backpack shoulder strap.This Allen Cascade has shorter thumb bolts in the quick-release swivels and work well in my scabbard. I’m finding them a bit stiff (tight) to begin, and somewhat fiddly to install, but I’m getting the hang of it and sure they will loosen up (in a good way) with time. Even better, this neoprene pad is even more slip resistant. It’s almost sticky, and I really like it. Stays right with my pack shoulder strap without slipping. In fact, I can’t even easily make it slip. To remove it from my shoulder, I have to lift it up an inch.The material, stitching, and overall quality is significantly better than I’d expect in a sling of this price. I recommend it strongly, and would easily buy it again.

I bought this item for my Savage MKII and it works great! I love the swivel locks, they are very convenient and strong. You can take it off with just a small flat head. It’s totally secure once you have it screwed down too. There is no chance your rifle with fall to the ground and possible discharge. The sling itself is comfortable and I have had many positive comments on it from others who have shot my Savage 22. It’s made of very comfortable and durable material that will never rub on your shoulder in an uncomfortable way. As long as you attach it correctly, it moves with the rifle and makes carrying it long distances a comfortable and pleasurable experience. It’s smaller but can be adjusted for most people. The price is unbeatable as well. This sling is a great value and I would buy another in a heartbeat!
Hoover –
The sling looks great and does the job. Not spartan, but not plush, either. “Spartan” meaning no padding and furrow in your shoulder; “plush” meaning so thick and wide with padding that it snags clothing or is cumbersome. Pretty standard fare on the webbing and plastic length adjuster. Swivel mounts are metal fit nicely. Very easy on and off.I wish there were a better way to tame the loose end of the webbing after the length is set. The sling comes with a loop of webbing around the main sling like on a belt, but it is too loose to be of any real use. Put it too close the loose end and the thing falls back through, or alternatively, the loop slides too freely back towards the length adjuster and you still have a loose end waving around. I haven’t decided if I’m gonna set it and cut off the excess or figure out a better way to secure the loose end.
