big kev –
This is a really comfortable duty belt that is very sturdy and does not bend or twist if loaded with gear (it seems to be reinforced with some strong pliable plastic). I bought this belt to replace a condor padded duty belt that didn’t quite fit all of my gear perfectly and tended to peel/bend outward with the weight of loaded magazines. This belt, which allows to weave a inner belt (I’m using a 1.75″ cobra belt) in and out to accommodate your gear. I carry a 5.11 thumbdrive holster with the drop and offset kit and on my previous duty/battle belt, I had to cut the belt to accommodate my holster to prevent the belt from getting hung up in the thumbdrive button. With this belt, I just wove my belt through the particular molle section where I wanted my holster and it fit perfect! This belt also allows you to use either molle attachment gear or traditional slide-on belt gear (you just have to weave the inner belt through to fit your needs).I’m 6’5″ and 275 lbs. and the L/XL belt fit me perfectly. In terms of gear, I attached a double mag pouch, a surefire flashlight holster, a dump pouch, handcuffs, and my 5.11 thumbdrive holster. It pretty heavy with everything, but it’s much more comfortable than any other duty belt I’ve tried. I only wish I had found this sooner. And I must admit that I was a bit reluctant on the belt based on the price, but after the first day of wearing it I knew it well worth it.

I was having severe lower back issues with my 16-lbs duty belt. I used a 4″ pad under my standard Bianchi nylon duty belt and I startedfeeling numbness in my legs. I bought the suspenders, which were great, until I got into the patrol car and they would be all over the place,in my face or just in the way due to the slack.I then tried 5.11’s Kevlar plates… Um, hated them and wasted my money. My nerves were still being pressed.I bought this and I used zip ties to secure my Bianchi to it and it’s awesome. It is not padded, so do not think that you are buying a think, paddedbelt. It has plastic in it, which keeps it fairly rigid, spreading the weight out over a larger surface area. I take my duty belt off multiple times pershift and it’s so easy to do without having to use keepers. I will never use keepers again. This think worked perfectly for me. Zero back pain now.I highly recommend this to back pain sufferers.

Overall a really nice belt.I have yet to run it through it’s paces, but just setting it up today, I can tell its made of quality materials. The reason I chose this battle belt is because of the pass through sections. This means I can weave the actual belt outside of the battle belt, and it allows me to run my kydex holster without having to figure out some different way to attach it to the MOLLE webbing. And like all other 5.11 products, I knew this would be high quality. And again, like all other 5.11 products, the sizing is a little off. I wear a size 34 waist pants, and I know that 5.11 belts tend to run small, so i ordered a Large/XL battle belt. It depends on your preferences, but the belt, riding up on my hips, stops above my pockets (on jeans), with about a full hands length between the two ends. This is fine with me, because I would never attach anything in that area, but I know some people would rather have the two ends meet, or be close to meeting. If you haven’t realized, this is just the battle belt, and you will need a belt to actually run through it. A lot of people like the Cobra buckle style belt, but they can be anywhere from $80-$120+. I bought this with the Fusion riggers belt, which has the Raptor buckle, and identical design, made of aluminum in the USA, and was like $40. Again, as a size 34, i went for the XL belt, but it was slightly too large and required some modification to secure snuggly. For the regular belt, (anything not 5.11) You should be fine with your actual size. Hope that helps.
