Pretty good belt. Stiffer than other options in the same price range. Does not loosen like others.

I had high hopes for this when I ordered it, but was disappointed upon receiving it. Material is decent but there are issues. All of the webbing is only single tacked, not doubled. The inner belt is very cheap but has grippy velcro. The biggest downsize is if you are thicker than a bean pole, this belt may not do so good for you. Instead of having the outer molle on some type of belt system or a belt buckle that adjusts at both ends, they give you an extra long piece only on one side for adjustment. The metal buckle is not adjustable on the other side, so you end up with this giant blank area from about the 10 oclock to 2 oclock position. If you’re a size 36 or higher, you can forget mounting anything close to your belly or appendix area. I find the claims that this was designed by a Navy SEAL very hard to swallow. My plain-jane basic Blackhawk duty belt that I’ve used for many years on patrol has much better materials and adjustment than this.

Right up front, I have to say that the only experience that I can use to review this Blacktide belt is the cheap, Chinese, airsoft-quality-at-best, belts that I have for airsoft games. I do own various, quality shooter’s belts for real firearms, but none are the molle-style belts.Fit & Finish:With that said, I was pleasantly surprised with how rigid this belt was right out of the bag. Not only the belt, but the molle loops are also rigid, really robust, and secure. As far as I can tell, the stitching looks regular and in all the right places. The ranger green color is good, maybe a little too bright green but still acceptable for some nylon around my waist. The other thing that caught my attention right out of the bag, besides how rigid the belt was, was the little, baby buckle. I guess I had noticed it in the manufacturer’s photos but its size was still a bit of a shock when I first looked at it. Don’t get me wrong, I really don’t have a real criticism of the buckle other than its size compared to all of the other belts I have and see online. Perhaps there’s a good reason to have a smaller buckle but when considering that a tactical belt is meant as a piece of life-saving equipment, I don’t know that would trust my life to a buckle that is half the size of the buckle on other tested/approved life-saving saving belts. It’s something to note at the very least.Sizing is perfect for me. I’m a 33 waist in most cases so the medium suits me well. There’s enough leftover nylon so that I can extend the belt if I have the belt over thicker pants or I just get fatter. The inner belt, however, isn’t the best one out there. Again, I have a few cheap, Chinese “battle belts” and some of them have come with some really nice inner belts. It seems like maybe they cheaped out on the inner belt. With that said, however, the hook and loop does adhere very well to one another. No complaint there.Overall, it’s a solid belt. I’ve already switched over my magazine carriers, dump pouch, and TQ and it’s ready to go.
