Was pleasantly surprised when I got this out and viewed the moon last night! Couldn’t believe how clear it was and the detail I could see through the scope! The tripod is a mbit cheap and I used my good camera tripod instead, but it will be okay when used as a spotting scope at the range! The phone mount takes some playing with to get a phone camera lens aligned with scopes eyepiece and if you adjust the scope zoom you have to readjust the phone or the picture will be tilted! Doesn’t matter on a moon shot but, if you are taking pictures of birds out landscape and zoom in you have to readjust!Overall I am very happy with the price and function of this scope! The mountains in the picture are about 25 miles away and looked better directly through the scope than what the picture portrays! Would recommend this scope to anyone needing a nice spotting scope at a great price!

So let me set the disclaimer that I bought this for the price. That alone should tell you the quality you should expect. I gave it four stars, but compared to high end (and high priced), this scope is probably a 2 or 3 star.I bought this specifically for the range and to assist seeing where I was hitting my target. The cell phone mount allowed me to see the target in my “camera” mode, and didn’t require me to lose position on my rifle. I gave it 4 stars because the mount is crap, and how it holds onto the scope is mediocre (it attaches to the zoom and rotates when you zoom in). The stand also sucks but works and you get what you pay for. One thing to know about the amount is that the rubber pieces slide off easy which means as you apply pressure the tension on the rubber will push them off of the mount. This happened occasionally for me but if you work it right it stays in place. The other thing is that the location of the camera and the eyepiece and the mount potentially meant you are squeezing your volume buttons, which if you aren’t aware, is also the camera button in camera mode. I’ve taken a ton of unnecessary photos while trying to mount my cell phone to it. So far the best device is and itouch iPod. Unfortunately for me, my ipod doesn’t retain a charge for very long, so i have to connect a charger to it to work, and even then it reboots sporadically. Thanks Apple. But in terms of the actual scope, the glass is decent and definitely usable for birdwatching, or even target watching. Definitely a decent purchase for the price if you are unsure if you actually need something like this. I would recommend it, but caution that you likely will want to replace it at some point for something better

Until recently, all I know is binocular and telescope. Never thought there is a mid-product: spotting scope. Used mostly in hunting and bird watching, spotting scope have a magnification between 20X~70X, compared to binocular typically 8X~12X.This product is my first trial and I am stunned by the imagine quality. It is great. I have a Canon 12×36 IS binocular. Compared to it, this one has much better resolution and show much better details. Also, the price is very attractive compared to peers. After online review, I further confirm this brand is among the best budget spotting scope. The only other similar brand is Athlon. Just search the model and see the comparison videos.OK, why I still return it if it is so great. Well, it is not that it doesn’t do a good job, but because I can’t find a scenario that I will carry it around. Unfortunatley, I am not a hunter or bird watcher. For nature touring, I think binocular still gives better field of view (FOV) and relatively volume friendly. This one (and all its kind) requires a small tripod or put against something like a tree. It is bulky and long to a normal backpack. The only scenario I probably end of using is to look at the moon at night in my backyard. But for that purpose, I have a telescope already. Well I very much like it, I know it would sit and catch dust if I keep it.End of my story. If you need such magnification and don’t mind to use tripod and bulky size, go ahead. This brand is the best of its kind. I didn’t say that lightly considering the numerous times I spent on online review searching.
