this is by far the best NVG in this price range. the fact it has a 1x alone makes it superior but it actually functions very well! has both IR emitters so you can use the 940 for the stealthy aspect of not being visible to the eye or when you need some real flood light and to light up what your looking at the 850 nm works perfect. both lights have 3 levels of brightness making it easy to fine tune your light output.

I have used them for about 6 hours total. Here’s my take.ProsBattery only drained one bar from 6 hours of use.Comes with lens protector.Comes with battery and two mounting options (gopro headstrap and dovetail for helmets).Has an oem bridge for dual mounting available.Can see well with illuminators off via moonlight alone.Has green and bw filter options.1080p recording with audio better than nightfox red.To be acknowledged but neutral.It is digital and you will notice the refresh rate.It does have minor magnification similar to the oculus quest 2 pass through mode. If you can navigate under those or the red, navigation under this is a breeze.It does have a manual focus. Which is pretty standard.Cons.There is no dual dovetail or j arm style mount available to my knowledge. I may be mistaken. I am fairly new to night vision.The refresh rate is worse than the nightfox red.The screen quality is pixelated, and would have been worth the extra money for the higher pixel density and refresh rate.The recordings haven’t saved consistently on the included micro sd cards. 2/3 were corrupted and unreadable. As well as still being in avi format instead of the much more common mp4. I will be testing different cards than the one included tomorrow. If all goes well it records every video with no corruption. Otherwise the issue is the firmware or the micro sd mounting.Overall take and use case.Due to the sensitivity to pick up everything exposed to moonlight, and the included mounting options, lens protector, and oem dual mount option. It is a really nice piece of gear. That being said. This is best used for slow and tactical airsoft outdoors. It’s NEARLY perfect for it. But nightfox red still takes the cake for indoor stuff. Needs a better screen and maybe a firmware update. But it’s easily my first pick for outdoors.

If you’re a just casual airsofter this is probably the best NVG for the price on amazon. Durable build quality, has sustained minor drops, easy to use, fits in G24 NVG mounts, plenty of brightness (a little too bright sometimes). The recording feature works really well too. 10/10 would buy again. Honestly can’t find a better bang for buck deal.
