I have traveled my entire life and tested dozens of suitcases. Never – and I mean never – have I owned a bag this large! I was stunned when it arrived. So much so that I took the trouble to look up the dimensions on all the airlines I typically use, both domestic and international, and this is apparently as big as you can get without going over. Having said that, if you fill it completely it will definitely exceed the weight allowance of 50 pounds for most airlines. I have a bit of a crush on this bag, actually. It is good-looking and sturdy and it ROLLS, which is essential for me because there is no way I’m carrying a bag that big. It’s a GREAT bag for storing – lots of stuff. I don’t think I’d ever bring it on an airline – I will never need that much stuff! – but I might bring it on a roadtrip as I pack a “hotel kitchen” with me when I do roadtrips and all the gear takes up a lot of space. It is a dream bag for tent camping, as I can fit everything I need for a weekend in here with no problems, and roll it along the trail (I camp in parks with good trails). This would be an outstanding graduation gift for a college or high school student, as most students do not have luggage and this one will help them to get wherever it is they are going.

This is a gargantuan bag that’s better made than the price class would suggest. The bottom is a nice hard plastic with footing rails, so no worries about laying it down, the zippers are all SBS branded and smooth with paracord zipper pulls and the material is thick and feels durable. The wheels work great as well, rolling smoothly and it’s surprisingly maneuverable using the two handles; I can sort of rotate it in place to get it in a closet and other tight spaces. I like the removable interior divider for separating clothes from kit and the mesh pocket easily holds my shoes and can also fit boots. There’s a nicely sized lid pocket that’s perfect for socks and under layers and if you need more space inside the top can expand for more capacity. The side pouch is removable and has a handle transforming it into a small carry bag, which is pretty cool and makes a great place to store tools, an ifak and small documents. It’s a pretty excellent, large bag that really exceeded my expectations with my only complaints being the main zipper isn’t lockable but otherwise it’s great and a fantastic value.

This duffel is pretty large- when you stand it up on end, it doesn’t require a telescoping handle- just grab the handle at the end of the bag and wheel it around. As described, the bag construction is heavy-duty and padded. The front pocket/organizer is really handy. It also has one large pocket at the top end of the bag. The bag comes with a divider that creates two compartments inside, and it also helps support the bag shape. The bottom end of the bag has three sets of heavy-duty wheels that look like they’ll handle rough surfaces. The duffel bag also has an expandable top, so you can really overpack this bag. If you’re flying with this, it might be easy to go over the bag weight limit for your airline.Really looking forward to using this for extended trips.
